Who's an Executive Coach?

An Executive Coach is a trained professional who works with executives and companies to help them improve their work performance, develop their leadership skills, enhance their self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and learn to respond more effectively to difficult situations and challenges.

Why you should hire an Executive Coach?

- To align individual and corporate goals. - To facilitate the executive to identify and develop the skills necessary for their goal. - To help the executive to identify their 'blind spots' and take corrective action. - To support the executive to overcome the limitations that prevent them from achieving their goals. - To empower and keep the executive motivated. - To coach the executive to identify their own answers and find their own solutions, thus pushing them towards their personal and professional development.

What are the best qualities of an Executive Coach?

Choosing the right Executive Coach is crucial to the success of the partnership. When considering potential Coaches, evaluating their qualifications, credentials, education, and experience are all key factors. Additionally, the chemistry between the Coach and the Coachee is also an essential factor. The trust that will be built in the coaching relationship is a crucial element in the commitment of the Coachee and the interaction between them. The more comfortable the executive feels in opening up and sharing with the Coach, the more successful the executive coaching will be. A good Executive Coach understands how to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages open dialogue and self-reflection.

How does Executive Coaching work?

Discovery session

Before the actual coaching process begins, it is important that all 3 parties (Coach – Coachee – Company) meet, in order to jointly decide and agree on the goal that the Coach and the Coachee will work towards. Usually, there is a common goal and need between the Company and the Client/Coachee, but this is not always the rule. For example, the goal may be to improve the efficiency of the executive and for the Company this may mean that the Coachee must establish his/her leadership presence, while for the Coachee it may mean changing some corporate practices or changing the way his/her team members collaborate. So it is important to clarify the request, the expectation of each party, and the final desired outcome.

Goal-setting & Assessment

Once the required first step has been completed, the coaching process between the Coach and the Coachee/executive can begin. The goal and desired outcome are clearly defined, as well as the starting point. At the same time, the strengths and weaknesses of the executive are assessed, in order to take them into account and utilize or, respectively, address them during the coaching collaboration. The coaching objective is getting aligned with both the executive’s personal and professional goals, as well as with corporate goals.

Executive development & empowerment

Through the coaching sessions, the Executive increases their self-awareness, challenges incorrect patterns that may limit them, gets exposed outside their comfort zone and cultivates new abilities and skills. At the same time, the Executive Coach helps the executive to realize their strengths and identify those characteristics that push them to effectively achieve their goals.

Test - Apply - Act

Executive coaching emphasizes on the practical application of what is discussed during the sessions. Therefore, the collaboration does not need to be completed for the executive to begin implementing their actions. This happens between sessions, bringing important feedback to the relationship and the focus of the sessions.

The executive can experiment and test attitudes, behaviors, and actions, as long as they are in the safe framework created by the coaching collaboration.

Completion & Action Plan

The collaboration is terminated either when the executive has a clear plan and precise strategy to follow until the complete achievement of their goal (limited number of sessions), or with the successful completion of the goal (full coaching journey).

In any case, at the end of the collaboration, all parties involved (Coach, Executive, Company) review the executive’s achievements, identify areas for improvement, and agree on the next steps for development.
